Bird banding discovery station

Discover the fascinating world of birds through a series of games and interactive stations! Children will learn more about different bird species, take on migration-related challenges, and participate in a litter fishing activity to help young birds grow in a clean and safe environment.
An activity booklet will also be provided so they can continue exploring and expand their knowledge throughout the festival.

Mission: build a nest!

Step into the world of a bird and take on the challenge of building a nest! Using mud, small branches, and other natural materials, children will design and create a strong, comfortable nest of their own.
This activity offers a fun way to discover the incredible work birds do and to better understand the importance of protecting their habitats in nature.

A creative activity combining a nature walk and a craft project. After gathering leaves, branches, and other natural treasures, participants will create beautiful birds inspired by the natural world around them.

A Goldeneye story
September 26 – 2:00 PM
Duration: 45 min
Come discover the story of Gaspard the Goldeneye! Follow Gaspard on his great journey as he faces challenges and adventures along the way to find his lake. Through an interactive story and fun activities, children will discover the life cycle of the Goldeneye and learn about the importance of protecting this species and its habitats in Quebec.

Tadoussac’s giant birds
September 26 – 3:00 PM and September 27 – 1:00 PM
Duration: 1h
Let your imagination take flight and help create giant birds on the beach! Using driftwood, seaweed, and other treasures found along the Tadoussac shoreline, children will work together to build magnificent sculptures inspired by Quebec’s birds. This creative activity encourages participants to observe nature, discover the birds of our region, and create a temporary work of art along the river.

Bird feeder or nest box building
September 27 – 11:00 AM
Durantion: 45 min
Help birds find a safe place to call home! During this activity, children will build their own nest box or bird feeder using simple materials. While crafting, they will learn about birds’ needs, the importance of natural shelters, and the actions we can take to help birds thrive and find food.
