The Gathering of birders
September 25, from 5:30 PM to 7 PM
As the Festival now spans an entire week, we are renaming the Opening Ceremony. The goal remains the same: to gather before a busy weekend of activities!
In a warm and welcoming atmosphere, connect with birders, naturalists, and nature enthusiasts as you share observations, favorite birding moments, and stories from the field.
A perfect opportunity to reconnect, chat, and share experiences… all before the renowned Ornitho Quiz at the Tadoussac church at 7:30PM!

Concert of Stéphane Lafleur
September 26 at 8 PM
Stéphane Lafleur is a filmmaker, musician, and the author of a poetry collection, Poudre à danser (2025). For more than 20 years, he has been crafting intimate folk music with his band Avec pas d’casque. Taking a break between two albums, he now presents a solo performance revisiting 25 years of songs—past, present, and those still to come.
A rare opportunity to hear his music in its most stripped-down and intimate form.

The Tadoussac Bird Observatory (TBO) is a research program of Explos-Nature. Founded in 1993, TBO monitors boreal and arctic bird populations to assess their demographic trends. The Observatory also trains ornithologists and promotes public awareness and education about bird migration, boreal forest ecology, and the bird species that depend on these habitats.
Each year, we offer a variety of interpretive programs, welcome over a hundred trainees and volunteers into our research initiatives, and organize both an annual Young Ornithologists’ Workshop and a birding festival.
